Short story
Historically, the protocol for the creation of
webpages was created by the European Organization for Nuclear Research
CERN. Initially, webpages were used as an internal cataloging system and
linking separate texts to CERN servers. Consequently, due to its
exceptional convenience, this way links text through hyperlinks. The
idea is rapidly gaining momentum, and the first Gopher graphic browser
was released soon, which was an incredible hit due to its ability to
graphically represent hypertext, allowing not only formatting but also
the use of pictures. Subsequently, more advanced browsers appear, with
which the WWW (World Wide Web) starts to dominate older standards and
continues to exist today.
What is a web design
Clearly technical, web design can be defined as
writing hypertext, ie. text with interactive references, be it to other
parts of text or to another text document. As a final product of the web
design, HTML pages, pictures in various formats (most commonly jpeg, png,
animations (most often gif or flash), etc., are obtained, etc. The
individual components obtained in the web design of one page or all Web
sites are divided into files that are distributed in directories,
usually one web page is a single file (the pictures and other graphics
and audio objects are separate files, although everything is visualized
as a whole), but this is not necessarily , especially when using scripts
running on the server. this case, a script can generate dozens of pages
and dozens of scripts can generate only one page.
The web design process can be seen as a mixture of
creative and technical work. Creative work includes artistic work of
individual graphic and audio elements and text formatting. Tech work
involves the arrangement of these elements most often through HTML,
which is then visualized on an output device (usually a monitor) by the
corresponding standard used. The technical part also includes the
development of a client-based code that is most commonly used to improve
the viewing of a site, and is most often implemented through JavaScript
or VBScript. An example of such a client-based code performed by a
visitor's browser is moving the mouse over menu items that are pictures
as you move through a graphic element to change it to another to
illustrate that the mouse has gone through this menu item.
Problems
Designers often accept web design similar to the
graphic design used in printed editions and aim to create webpages that
look the same for all users. As a concept, web design is very different
from print advertising, where there is a fixed paper size, and
everything should be done just millimeter. For web design, it is wrong
to use such an approach because the output device is not known in
advance, a web page visitor can preview this web page using the same web
browser as the one who created it. It can also use radically different
visualization software, such as a mobile phone browser, or, if blind,
simply listening through a computer reader. It is therefore advisable to
create webpages as webpages by complying with their standards and not to
create them to imitate print editions.
Another common problem is the conflict between
usability and optimization for internet search engines. While graphic
designers think the most important thing about a web page is what it
looks like, search engine optimization consultants insist that the most
important thing is to position the site as fully as possible. In the
end, the truth is somewhere in the middle, with an important balance
between the two concepts. On the one hand, of course, it is important
that a webpage is easily found through search engines, because if it is
not found by anyone, it is useless to everyone, and if a site is not
well-designed, its finding is not it would make sense if it does not
contain useful and accurate information about the seeker.
